He was full of life and strive.
He protected, fought and could drive
Fathers, mothers, children and friends off their lives,
Leaving their bodies lay on the ground as empty as a groom without a wife.
He was ruthless, fearless, brave, ambitious, daring and wise
But not until he met this family of five
He just reduced to one.
His strength and zeal were drained,
He looked helpless like a dog restricted by a chain.
His mission was flooded by the rain
Of self pity when he saw deep pain
In her eyes as she wailed.
Her tears were as thick like that of Christ,
Because they obstructed her sight
and dazzled her for a while.
With his dangling riffle clung on to his right arm,
He became a civilian for once.
Too emotional to be a soldier.
"Sergeant Dominic, do you copy? Do you copy?..."
The headpiece which hung on his ear was saying, fighting with network.
She was the lone survivor
With the color of blood as her new complexion.
She saw her papa dance involuntarily to the tune of death.
Her papa's hold of her got weaker as he gasped for air.
Bullets from the riffle dug holes on his back.
For once her papa lost hope in his breath
As he swam deep in his own pool of blood.
Her mama and two elder brothers were long gone before her papa.
All bearing the mark of the soldier's bullet.
Before a twinkle of an eye, she transcended
Into a woman; a dangerous woman with a bitter facet.
As dangerous as the bear which just lost her cubs.
Standing in front of her, he knew one thing;
"She was seeing an arch-enemy"
An enemy who had just snapped life out of her family.
He knew she would revenge sooner than later
If she saw a second more after his departure.
She was a girl from the north,
They feed them with revenge even before they were born.
And now she has nothing to lose when she is gone.
He felt his pistol resting in the pouch on his waist .
He thought it wise to be an option,
An option to amalgamate her to her family.
But he needed to show his remorse.
Decisions gurgling through his mind.
His right hand raised up to the his gun pouch,
His expertise was seriously in doubt,
He couldn't look into her eyes but her mouth.
Her mouth shivered and trembled in fear.
She muttered some words that died right before they escaped lips.
Maybe those were her last words he thought to himself.
He flipped the pouch open,
The radio wave in his earpiece was a distinct noise he heard.
The girl's heart beat doubled, even tripled.
Her mouth was left ajar unconsciously as she saw the greatest evil of her life.
He held the gun's handle,
Brought it out and pointed it at the girl against his wish.
He tried being a soldier by all means.
Just then, a loud gunshot was heard...
"Sergeant Dominic, we need to get out of here..."
The earpiece informed.
All by himself in the helicopter as they flew back home,
Nothing mattered to him but the choice he made.
"...You made it...!" The speaker sounded, it was their boss...
"EVERYONE FEELS WEAK ONCE IN A WHILE!!!" He admitted.
"Congratulations!" the soldier in the helicopter shook his right hand in appraisal...
TO BE CONTINUED...
