When we were kids
We lived like kings
With sharp teeths,
Throwing jabs at our mother's breast
We wet her vagina before father's face.
What can you do our smile asks?
Hands raised, father prays in phase
"Heaven let this boy walk fast".

When we were kids
Ekenma carries my babies
Always singing;
"Nwata mechie onu oyoyo"
While I watched how it all happened,
I asked mother, is that how you vomited us?
Father shakes his head praying,
"Chukwu Okike guide him, and guard this house".
*****
When we were kids
Nigeria never existed in our memories,
It was all about heaven.
Year two thousand brought the reality
Of the unknown world closer,
Revealing the haven of criminality
As Nigeria; with tits to suck as remedy.
Father prays, "Heaven! He must not be a wolf".
*******
When we were kids
Many eyes saw our contours
Letting the Eden of our hearts to unfold,
Knowledge of good and evil was unknown
Revenge is now!
Why were we not told?
Father prays amidst tears "Heaven, I am sorry".
*******
When we were kids
Father and mother plays noisily all nights.
At dawn, damp senses
Never taught us to say
"Please", " I am sorry",
Rather saying "thank you" was enforced not taught.
Now we want to mimic them,
Father and mother says, "wait for your nights".
*******
When we were kids
Stripes of our sins stenches,
Yet purity was an epitome from us;
With no salary angels and demonds stake guidance.
Father and mother, no innocence
In those memories with no suspicions.
Who wants to dance,
Dance back to when we were kids?
