TODAY IS THURSDAY, LET'S START OUR DAY WITH A SMILE OR A LITTLE LAUGHTER (Cont'd of my Monday Post)
We got to the venue quite on time, and got a good spot for a good view. Though I struggled to converse because I didn't know whom of me the lady had on her mind after my humble display of sincerity.
The words were dropping one after the other. I wanted us to flow in our discussion, so I ransacked my mind to bring up discussions. Nothing was coming. I knew one of the best ways to get a lady interested in a chat is to make a smile, but sadly, all my comic self went on exile.
Just then, she received a call from a caller that was yelling at her. She tried to explain several times during the call but the caller wouldn't allow her. She was fed up. It was obvious. She rested her head on her left hand and squeezed the sides of her mouth to show she couldn't wait for the call to end.
It eventually ended. She became calm.
"He?" I said after about a minute or two she was done with the call.
She just nodded her head to mean yes, avoiding to say a word so the cloud of tears gathering in her eyes won't drop.
Within me I was like, "Bro, this is your opportunity to right the wrong. Prove to her that you are a man."
"I don't know what happened..." I started. "But the fact is that good things don't come easily. Every relationship gets to this point, The resolution is what really matters here. But if you feel it's more than what you can take and your man isn't giving you that necessary peace after several considerations or trials, quitting should be considered. Till death do us part is quite a long time to stay unhappy, my dear. Even the couple we came here for must have gotten to this point. So babe, chill and enjoy every bit of why you are here."
I winked at her as I tilted my head simultaneously. She smiled. I reciprocated with a broader one. We were good.
"You are really beautiful." I caught her in the web this time.
Her smile became broader. "Tell me about your girlfriend."
My smile became broader too. But before I started, we heard the honk of the cars that brought in the couple and their train. Our attention was diverted immediately. Almost everyone in the reception hall rushed out to go meet the couple.
As the party went on, we smiled and laughed more.
They started sharing food sooner after we started because the MC, according to the groom, said he wanted us to leave on time. I ordered for swallow as usual.
"Seems like you love food a lot" She asked.
"Love is an understatement, my dear."
"That's good. Women sometimes love men who will always eat their food."
"Speak for yourself o."
we both laughed.
Not too long after I finished eating, another lady came with another plate of swallow.
"These people want to finish you with food today."
"My dear, ehn."
As I balanced again to start consuming the food, the first lady that served me appeared like a ghost. Her body language showed she was all these over sabi and over do people.
"Shey, I've served you before?"
I Kept quiet.
"Shey you heard the MC apologizing to everyone not to eat twice because we have shortage of food? Please give me the food."
Before I said a word or even knew what was happening, she collected the food from me. Everything happened within some
split seconds. I didn't know when my mouth was left ajar. I'd already started folding the one I cut out of the wrap. The soup was gone, the remaining semo was gone.
"Which kind winch be this na!"
I didn't know what to do again. How to wash my hand became a big problem. To look at the lady I knew was looking at me to know what my reaction would be became a bigger problem. I just wished they would do fade out, so I could just disappearπππππ...
Stay tuned for the last episode of my tale...π
