I left hoping you’d change your ways,
I’m going to be an optimist about this…
I only came to say goodbye
We were related by blood,
We ate from the same pot,
We drank from the same cup,
We shared the same pain,
We danced in the rain, played in the mud,
Nothing could break our bond,
We were siblings,
We were one love…
We didn’t have the best of fathers,
We were broken from the lack of that guardian,
Yes, he was alive, but present; never, by he; I mean father,
We knew we had enough,
I mean we had mother,
She put the broken pieces together,
We never needed father,
She (mother) was the best, ever…
She gave up everything, for us,
Even took care of those who were mean to us,
She was in pain but she knew she had us,
We were her only joy; the source,
Through the hardship, she could’ve left us,
But she didn’t, she loved us!!
She helped build us,
Apart from GOD, that was true love…
She was happy,
She was pleased,
She knew by GOD, her best she trained us,
She expected the best from us,
We had grown up,
Our decisions were ours,
We started diverting,
Mother was broken,
We had fallen apart…
Blood began to feel like water,
Instead of dancing in the rain,
We rolled each other on gravel,
Painted each other with tar,
Our hearts made of gold, turned black
Our souls struggled for light, but it burned in the dark,
No love existed between siblings,
We were people forced to be together…
That was stupidity craving in,
There was no longer a “we”,
For everyone there was just a ‘me”.
No bonds existed,
Whatever was; was not,
Relationship of siblings broke into wildfire,
Where ;
Inability to tolerate each other was stone hit together,
Anger was wildfire,
Injury was smoke…
We weren’t siblings anymore….
Somewhere deep down we missed each other
But ego could’ve driven us to our graves
But mother would always be mother
She came to our rescue, drove us out of our misery
Truly truly I say to you she was a blessing in disguise
It all happened over a dinner,
It was all peace, love, happiness and all the best feelings of life
Until the last few minutes, when dad walked in
We were all lost, we couldn’t say we didn’t remember him
We would never forget the source of our mothers pain
And there those tears were once again on mama’s face
It shattered our hearts , confused; what were the tears for?
Joy? , pain? , or certified mixed feelings?
The look on my siblings were crazy
But mother was full of love,
She let him eat, then we heard his story,
Everyone cried , but me; I was black diamond opal for dad
Mum knew but she let it be
They were hugs n laughter but I needed to know what was deep inside mama
She could get grammys for pretence
